Rogue Yoga is actually a person: Katy Aversenti Schumaker RYT 200. I decided to deepen my 20+ year yoga practice when the pandemic closed my favorite yoga environments. I studied virtually with Akasha Yoga Academy and spent a year convincing friends and family to participate in outdoor yoga with me, as part of my practicum. It was at that point that I realized a love of teaching yoga. I never intended to have another career but feel called to follow this love of sharing and leading yoga classes.

My intention is to bring yoga to those who might otherwise be unable to access it, due to finances, physical limitations, emotional difficulties, feeling uncomfortable in ‘studio yoga’ environments, and a variety of other reasons that make yoga seem inaccessible or out of reach. Coupling decades of working with survivors of all kinds of trauma from a psychotherapist perspective, it is humbling and an honor to incorporate trauma informed yoga into every class, no matter the participants’ personal history. I do NOT provide yoga therapy, as that is an entire field unto itself. But I do provide yoga that is intentional and soothing to the nervous system. I hope to see you soon!
